Le Bonheur Foreign Film Fridays

On Friday, 30 November 2012, let go and laugh your way into the weekend with a film inspired by the diverse cultural landscape of South Africa and the humour the locals are known for. The Le Bonheur wine estate is adding a local spin to its Film Fridays line-up with one of the country’s most popular films.

Sip on a glass of your favourite Le Bonheur wine and enjoy the intriguing storyline of the 1980s comedy film, The Gods Must Be Crazy. From a plot to save the world from, an unusual love affair between a bumbling scientist and a school teacher to a band of guerrillas on the run, the film promises to be a hit as it has been for the past few decades. 

Le Bonheur’s Film Fridays starts at 18:30 and includes the film, dinner and Le Bonheur wine at a cost of R125 per person, or R45 for the film and wine only.

Christmas Night Market

The Christmas Night Market on Friday, 30 November 2012 at the Stellenbosch Slow market is a highlight on our yearly events calendar. This vintage styled authentic market has all the Christmas trimmings, going all out in ensuring that the finest suppliers of traditional Christmas goodies. Gingerbread houses, Christmas fruit cakes, mince pies, organic nuts, gammon rolls, German bratwurst, champagne, fynbos topiaries, décor and festive season ideas are selected. Relaxed vintage Christmas music, coupled with a live music theatre production in the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre is most popular on the hot summer nights.

The designer goods market, known as The Treasury Market, will also be present this year, offering shoppers Christmas gifts galore to fill up those stockings with handmade goods made by designers, crafters and artisans.

The Delheim MTB Day

On Sunday, 18 November 2012, those of us feeling active can join in the fun of the Delheim MTB Day, opting either for the 12km lap with awesome single track sections on the slopes of Simonsberg – 1 or 2 laps (24km), or the 7km option, on the beautiful Delheim Wine Estate on Knorhoek Road off the R44. All finishers will receive a medal!

Just the day before, on Saturday, 17 November, Delheim also invites you to their trail running and Mountain Bike Nightride. Riders can choose a 7km option or the 12km ride. Mountain bikers that need more of a challenge can attempt the 12km lap twice, as it has some good climbing and single track sections.
